Tile restoration

Tile restoration for high-traffic ESD floors

RIFCO restores worn, soiled ESD and computer-room floor tiles. Dirt, oils and residues are removed, ESD performance is fully recovered and the look is brought back to up to 90% of original. We work metre by metre with minimal water, carried out by highly trained specialists who keep it almost risk-free in a live room.

Restore instead of replace

Replacing an ESD tile floor means downtime, cost and disruption. In most cases you do not need to. RIFCO deep-cleans the tiles, lifts embedded dirt, oils and chemical residues, and re-applies the ESD finish. That recovers 100% of the ESD performance and brings the look back to up to 90% of original, at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

What heavy traffic does to a floor

Loading docks, entrances and main routes take a beating. Pallet trucks, roll cages and heavy deliveries grind contamination into the tile and wear the ESD finish away.

Ground-in dirt & scuffs

Wheel tracks, black scuffs and traffic film build up until a light clean no longer touches them.

Oils & chemical residue

Hydraulic oil, rubber and cleaning-agent residue leave films that attract more dirt and can affect grip.

Worn-away ESD finish

The conductive finish that makes the floor ESD-safe wears off quietly under traffic, until it no longer performs.

A tired-looking facility

A grey, streaked floor at the entrance sets the tone for the whole site, for staff, clients and auditors.

How we restore it

A controlled, metre-by-metre process run by highly trained specialists, with purpose-built equipment and minimal water. Each square is worked and recovered in turn, so little goes airborne and liquid is kept from the tile joints below.

  1. 01

    Assess & mask off

We inspect the floor, identify the contamination and ESD condition, and section off the work area.

  2. 02

    Deep-clean, metre by metre

Specialised machines lift embedded dirt, oils and residue with minimal water, worked and recovered square by square.

  3. 03

    Contained & controlled

We recover moisture immediately, so little particulate goes airborne and liquid is kept from reaching the plenum through the tile joints.

  4. 04

    Re-apply the ESD finish

We re-apply the conductive ESD finish. That recovers 100% of the ESD performance and restores the look to up to 90% of original.

What a restoration covers

One controlled process, from soiled to restored.

  • Removal of ground-in dirt, traffic film and scuffs
  • Removal of oils, rubber and chemical residues
  • Minimal-water, residue-free method, worked by trained specialists
  • Particulate kept from the air, liquid kept from the tile joints
  • ESD performance recovered to 100% with a fresh conductive finish
  • Appearance restored to up to 90% of original (physical damage excluded)

Why restore with RIFCO

Floor restoration in a critical environment is not the same as a commercial floor job.

  • Minimal water, no residue

Minimal water, section by section. Moisture is kept from what is below, little goes airborne, and no wet residue is left on the tile.

  • ESD restored, not just cleaned

We put the conductive finish back, so the floor meets 100% of its ESD spec again rather than merely looking shiny.

  • In trained hands, almost risk-free

Because water is involved, the method is not risk-free by nature. It is our highly trained specialists, working metre by metre around live routes, who bring the risk down to almost nothing.

  • A fraction of replacement cost

Restore what you have instead of ripping up and re-laying an entire floor.

Frequently asked questions

Can any tile floor be restored?

Most ESD, vinyl and computer-room tile floors can be restored: we recover 100% of the ESD performance and bring the look back to up to 90% of original. What we cannot undo is physical damage such as cracks, gouges or chips. We flag that for replacement instead.

Do you need to shut down the area?

No. We work metre by metre and can section off routes so the rest of the area stays in use. It uses minimal water and is carried out by highly trained specialists, so it stays almost risk-free in live critical environments.

How does minimal water protect the space below?

We use only as much moisture as the machine recovers on the same pass, square by square. Little pools, and it is kept away from the joints between tiles, the plenum and the cabling below.

Does the floor stay ESD-safe afterwards?

Yes. Re-applying the conductive ESD finish is part of every restoration, so the floor performs to 100% of its ESD spec again rather than just looking clean.
