Your technical rooms, cleaned without a shutdown.
Generator rooms, electrical and switch rooms, UPS and battery rooms. In these technical spaces, dust is a fire and reliability risk. We clean them ESD-safe and NEN 3140-qualified, around energised equipment, so nothing has to power down.
Not a data hall, but the lifeline
Technical rooms hold no servers, but they hold the power and cooling everything else depends on. Dust here is not cosmetic. On switchgear and busbars it forms tracking paths that can flash over, in generator rooms it mixes with soot and fuel residue, and around UPS batteries it traps heat and hides early corrosion. And because these rooms are rarely opened, whatever builds up has often been building for years. We remove it safely, without taking the room, or the load it carries, offline.
The rooms we clean
The technical spaces around your critical load, each with its own risk and its own careful method.

Electrical & switch rooms
Switchgear, distribution boards and cabling. Dust on contacts and busbars forms tracking paths that can arc and trip. We remove it around energised equipment, NEN 3140-qualified and without powering the room down.
-
Generator rooms
Standby generators sit idle, then run hard. We clear the accumulated dust, soot and fuel-borne residue from units, floors and air paths, so cooling and controls stay reliable when it matters.
-
UPS & battery rooms
Dust blankets batteries and UPS modules, traps heat and hides early corrosion. We clean carefully around the plant, so the room’s protection, and your ride-through, stay intact.
Why dust here is dangerous
In a technical room, dust is not a blemish. It hits safety, reliability and compliance.
Fire & tracking
Dust and moisture on switchgear form conductive paths, a known cause of tracking, arcing and, at worst, fire.
Overheating & derating
Dust insulates transformers, UPS and generators; they run hotter, derate and fail sooner.
Standby that fails when called
Generators and UPS that sit idle must work first time. Fouled controls and cooling are a hidden risk exactly when you need them most.
Inspection & insurance
Clean, documented technical rooms stand up better to electrical inspections and insurer checks.
Around live power, safely
Cleaned without a shutdown
The hard part of a technical room is not the dust, but the power around it. Our staff are NEN 3140-qualified for safe working on, with and near electrical installations, and ESD-trained. We use HEPA 14 extraction and antistatic methods so dust leaves the room instead of being blown onto energised equipment. The room stays in service throughout.

How we work
A controlled, repeatable process, built around the safety of an energised environment.
- 01
Survey & risk assessment
We map the room, its energised zones and access, and determine what can be done live and what needs coordination.
- 02
Method statement & plan
A tailored method statement: approach, scheduling and the arrangements for any higher-risk work, agreed with your team in advance.
- 03
Controlled cleaning
HEPA 14 extraction and ESD-safe working around energised equipment, without powering the room down.
- 04
Check & hand back
A final check against the plan, and the room handed back clean and documented, ready for inspection or audit.
The standards we work to
Technical-room cleaning is about working safely around live power. These are the standards that underpin it.
NEN 3140
The Dutch standard for safe working on, with and near electrical installations. Our staff are NEN 3140-qualified, so we clean energised rooms safely.
ESD-safe working
Antistatic materials and ESD-trained staff prevent the static discharges that damage sensitive controls and electronics.
HEPA 14 filtration
Our extraction captures ≥99.995% of fine particles, so dust leaves the room instead of being redeposited on the plant.
Frequently asked questions
Does the room need to be powered down?
No. Our staff are NEN 3140-qualified to work safely around energised equipment, so as a rule we clean without powering the room down. Any higher-risk work is agreed with you in advance.
Is it safe around switchgear and live power?
Yes, based on a risk assessment and a method statement. We use ESD-safe methods and HEPA 14 extraction, and keep safe distances and procedures per NEN 3140.
Do you clean MER/SER rooms too?
MER/SER and meet-me rooms are a dedicated service with their own approach. See MER/SER room cleaning.
How often should a technical room be cleaned?
It depends on the room and its environment. Often less frequently than a data hall, but precisely because these rooms are rarely opened, periodic cleaning matters. We set the frequency from a survey.
What about generator rooms with soot or fuel residue?
We include those in the clean: unit surfaces, floors and air paths, so the standby plant’s cooling and controls stay reliable.
